If you ask Brody how we met, he'll respond without fail, she swiped right and slid into my DMs! Which in all fairness, isn't untrue. Brody and I, like so many couples these days, met on Bumble. And since the women have to reach out to the men first on that app, I did, in fact, send him the first message.
Soon after, Brody asked me out on our first date. Which, he cancelled on about 2 hours before. You read that right - Brody cancelled on our first date just a few hours beforehand because he had a migraine (he may or may not have just been hungover from the night before). I remember being in the car with my family the next day, complaining about his cancellation. But I clearly remember my dad responding, "okay, so he had a migraine. Give the guy a break - just reschedule." After a few back and forths, we had our first date at Superica the next night.
A few days later, I flew to Vegas to watch the Super Bowl. Brody made me a bet via text that the Chiefs would win - and if they did, I would have to plan our next date. If not, he would plan it. Of course, I won the bet (which Brody claims he did on purpose because he had a great second date idea). We grabbed dinner at Sweet Auburn, went to a splatter paint class, and ended the night singing and dancing at Dark Horse (of course). We both got $70 parking tickets that night - so it was probably the most expensive second date Brody has ever had to pay for. And I was completely smitten after that night.
As the story goes, Brody secretly deleted Bumble off of his phone on our third date when we took Shandy to Fetch. The rest is history ♡
